Who can apply to become a Ninja?
Applications are open to everyone. We match missions to your profile, location and availability, so all backgrounds are welcome.
Is there an application fee?
Yes — a once-off R299 application fee applies, payable securely via Payfast during the application process. It covers processing and verification of your application, and is required before your application can be reviewed.
How quickly can I start?
The process is quick and simple. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you get the opportunity to test out a live mission to show us what you can do — often within days.
How and when do I get paid?
Each mission has an agreed reward shown before you accept it. Payment is made once your report is submitted and approved. You can track mission status and earnings in the Ninja Portal.
Do I need to travel?
Only if you want to. Your application lets you tell us whether you're willing to do local travel for 1–2 nights; missions are matched to your preferences and area.
Is mystery shopping legal and ethical?
Yes. Ninjas behave as genuine customers through public channels only, and reports measure service — never target individual staff. Read our Ethics Statement for the full rules.
How do I track my missions and contributions?
Through the Ninja Portal — view assigned missions, update progress, submit reports and see your approved earnings.
